THE METHOD
Our method is based on the premise that languages are leant in
order to communicate. The courses are organized in order to foster
the understanding of a foreign language not just in the classroom
but in the outside world as well. The focus is on active skills.
Technical subjects are included (grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation)
as well as the way a language is actually used in given contexts.
This encourages the students to seek and acquire active skills without
the protection of the classroom, and to use those skills accurately
and effectively. Students therefore learn how to write, read, listen
to and, above all, speak English.

EQUIPMENT
The Regency School continuously updates the teaching materials
and equipment available for language learning. Without changing
its direct method, the School encourages students to use these materials
and advanced technology on their own, outside the classroom, to
increase their contact with the language. The School has a self-access
centre with language lab, computer language work stations, an Internet
link, a satellite
dish for foreign language TV, library and video library. Every classroom
has a TV, video and tape recorder. This equipment provides the student
with a variety of stimuli, making learning enjoyable and interesting.
